Current Projects:

     *Rural Community Development Initiative (RCDI) (CED RCDI Project Page)
          in conjunction with the Office of Community Development in the 
          Louisiana Division of Administration
      
       Project Overview:
       We are assisting in conducting training workshops for 8 selected small towns
       located throughout the state. The training will focus on preparing leaders in each
       community to organize and facilitate a local committee for the purpose of prepar-
       ing and implementing an economic development strategic plan and will also 
       provide extensive technical assistance follow-up with each community to ensure
       that the planning process is completed, that specific priorities are identified and
       that potential funding sources are earmarked for specific grant applications. 

     *I-12 to Bush, Louisiana Corridor Study

        Project Overview: 
        The Center has been retained as part of a consulting team to assist in analyzing
       the potential economic development impacts of a new state highway that would
       be  built in a largely rural area of St. Tammany Parish. This highway (LA 3241) 
       would link the City of Bogalusa in Washington Parish to I-12 and thus to the 
       major transportation network for the Southeast portion of the state.

         Project Overview
         The Center is partnering with GCR & Associates, Inc. (GCR) to update the
       strategic plan for Jefferson Parish.
